Nelson's Ice Cream

We love Nelson's. Growing up in Stillwater, it will always be our most loved ice cream place. We have spent many special celebrations and birthdays here. There are so many flavor options. Good prices. Friendly staff. It's just a gem in our community, and i hope it stays in our community for many, many years to come. One thing I would really like to see is different dairy free options like oatmilk. Even if it was pints from the grocery store. I would pay for a pint in order to enjoy an ice cream treat with my family. The vegan ice cream is gross, sorry, and its consistency is just not ice cream creamy. I keep trying, but I just can't. That leaves us with raspberry sorbet. I'm not sure that flavor has ever changed. Also, the Sorbert is loaded with sugar and always cross contaminated. There is always dairy ice cream dropped into it, which means i will get sick. It should never be in the front where they need to scoop across it. Plus, it should have a separate scooper. For some of us, getting dairy can be like someone with celiac getting gluten. So, I just get stuck watching my family celebrate with their ice cream. It doesn't stop us from coming. it's just really tough to be dairy free in a dairy world.

Great ice cream with huge servings. I have celiac disease so I appreciate that they have their ice creams labeled for gluten free options. Not a fan of the store layout. I'm extremely claustrophobic and I felt like I was locked in a cattle shute inside a small closet. But in the end, the ice cream was worth it.
