Clean, nice staff, good food. Huge car park and although we didn’t need it, lovely play area out front. Great choice of soft drinks. Beautifully presented food. Flavours of potatoes and meat were muted by the rich gravy which they were covered in. The cauliflower cheese sauce was weirdly runny but the cauliflower itself was delicious - as was the parsnip. Portion sizes were spot on and I loved the serving dishes. I like places where the menu is on a printed piece of paper because you know the chef isn’t just going through the motions of making food but has put thought and fresh ingredients in to their menu. Made me a lovely gluten free crumble and the custard was delightful - light and not overly sweet. (Gluten free options are printed in a muted tone on the menu so if you’re looking for GF don’t skim read as I did!) Server and other staff worked hard and were attentive without being over the top. It was a really nice experience.
