Newport's Cafe

Newport's is a cafe close to the Cultural Centre bus station halfway down fish lane and to the left. It is not really accessible to people with disabilities. There's a small entryway with about 10 seats and then an additional 10 seats upstairs roughly, with lots of open windows and plants. The space is quite rustic and welcoming. On Saturdays there is a 10% surcharge, on Sundays 15%. My friends were told they were sold out of waffles, but my friend who came five minutes later was able to order them. I ordered an almond latte and the haloumi brioche gluten free. They gave me a cookie which I gave to my friend as it was not also GF. They burnt the almond milk but were able to remake the coffee for me with a different milk, which was appreciated. The food was tasty but quite expensive for what it consisted of. It was fine honestly, probably just wouldn't go again.

An absolute gem! This was a delightful find on my first day in Brisbane, I read the reviews and they didn’t disappoint! They had excellent gluten free bread (some of the best I’ve had) and everything tasted so fresh. I have the Avo toast with garlic mushrooms and the sweet vanilla chai latte (so heart warmingly good). I’ve been lucky to eat some of the best vegan and vegetarian foods around the world and I was very impressed by this cute cafe. The staff were kind and the food was an appropriate wait considering it was fresh. This is a great spot for breakfast or lunch, meeting up with a friend, having some alone time to read a book or do some laptop work. A very versatile place for sure! Take it from one picky foodie, check this place out. Thanks for a great bunch today, I’ll be back❤️
