Nine Garden 玖记小馆

This is an excellent restaurant for authentic Chinese food. I lived in Hong Kong a number of years and the Singapore vermicelli (one of my favorite dishes) brought back delicious memories. I need to avoid gluten and the people working there were so careful. The vegetable dish had an interesting variety of well prepared wonderful vegetables. We also had the ginger fish. I recommend all and any of those dishes. I will be back in the near future to try other dishes

A rare local dish in Chicago, better than Shine and half the price. The owner was very welcoming, even hearing the familiar Shanghainese dialect, he gave us a 10% discount and even treated us to drinks. The roasted gluten and double-skin milk were authentic; the smoked fish was just right, though it was a shame they didn't use grass carp; the wine was perfectly blended. The owner said he's working on adding more Jiangsu and Zhejiang dishes. I recommend the fried eel with pine nuts, salmon with wine and vanilla. If you can find the ingredients, order them, I'm dying of greed! 🥹🥹
