No.4 Licensed Coffee House

They were so kind and accommodating of our (pretty niche) dietary needs. I'm vegetarian but allergic to allium vegetables, and my mum's gluten-free and made the whole experience really pleasant. There were loads of veggie and gluten-free options, even cakes, which is such a rare find! Honestly, it feels like they can cater to just about any dietary requirement. So understanding. The food portions were generous and beautifully done - everything felt thoughtful and delicious. I'd love to check out their fabulous secret garden next time on a warm day as it was a bit chilly today.

We have been going to No 4 for approx 7 years now. It was always a very good cafe, with food, cakes, drinks being excellent, especially the cream tea. However, we recently went for take away cakes, scones and coffee and it was quite poor. The scones were still good but a little pricey, but the cakes were very poor. We ordered chocolate cake and a gluten free brownie and both were very dry. The chocolate cake was exceptionally dry, and very small considering the price of around £4.50. honestly really disappointed but we will likely still return as the cream tea, with scones jam and cream are still good.
