O'Hehirs Bakery & Cafe Shop

A bakery with its own coffee shop. Fantastic ! On the main Street too! Gluten Free options galore.

This was my go to place to meet my friend for lunch, normally very good but today I was served by a very rude woman. I asked for gluten free bread or wrap and was told it sold out and none in until tomorrow (I was in at 1pm so thought it very strange that at peak lunch time they had nothing gluten free) and was essentially dismissed as she looked away, then she said you can have soup. I was really embarrassed by her abrupt behaviour so decided to just have a coffee as my friend was in a tight schedule for lunch. The nice cashier called down to say she had left a gf loaf in the press, so I was given this, I had to repeat 3 times what I wanted on the sandwich (chicken, cheese and coleslaw), when she asked did I want it toasted I said yes please to which she snarkily replied 'well it will be toasted on same machine as everything else so....'. Naturally as she was not willing to put down a paper underneath when toasting it as all other assistants in O'Hehirs have done every other time I was there, I decided to opt out of getting sandwich toasted. I was then handed my plate without a word. I was going to say something to the cashier or ask to speak to a manager but my friend goes there most days and asked me not to say anything until she left. I won't be back in a hurry. I have a severe allergy to wheat and carry an epipen and steroids, so I have to take precautions everywhere I go. Very disappointed.
