We recently went to O-Ku for my friends bridal shower weekend. It was the perfect way to start a weekend showering our friend with love.
We started with a bottle of Blossom of Peace sake and even though not all of our party like sake, everyone enjoyed it! Light and sweet, the perfect way to start.
We mostly had small plates, my personal favorite was the yellowtail carpaccio, and fuego roll. I wasn’t in love with the El-jefe roll but it was a general favorite of the table.
The service was great, the restaurant was absolutely slammed because of the blues festival going on at the same time. It took quite some time for our food to arrive but I didn’t think too much about it while we were there, the place was clearly busy so obviously the food will take some time. Our waiter was great about checking on us to see if we needed more food /drinks while we waited.
We also ordered a bottle of Prosecco, would recommend if you’re there and don’t like sake.
We finished with some mochi and a chocolate mousse type thing for dessert. Both were wonderful, and a lovely way to end the evening.
All in all I would definitely come back for a girls night, I’d recommend for friends and family to give it a try. And I look forward to coming here on a date night with my husband soon.
Thank you O-Ku for a memorable evening!
*edited to add* Our bride has a gluten free allergy and EVERYONE on staff was aware of it. We didn’t need to remind them to use GF soy sauce, they went out of their way to let us know what could be modified to be GF and what couldn’t. It made the experience even better. This is a great place to take your GF friend or partner.
