Olive Garden Italian Restaurant

This Olive Garden Italian Restaurant has a great location in Weslaco on the north side of Interstate 2 (Hwy 83) in front of the TJ Maxx and JC Penny Stores. They have a good sized parking lot, but at peak hours those can run out. No worries, as there is plenty of parking in the adjacent shopping center. At 4 PM on a Sunday my party of 5 had a short wait for a table, shorter than the 20 minutes we were initially told. We were shown to a nice table. The facilities are relatively new, look beautiful, are clean and well maintained. They offer a variety of soft drinks, iced teas, flavored infusions, wines, and other alcoholic beverages. I got the fresh brewed iced tea. The menu is the same as other Olive Garden restaurants, offering all-you-can-eat salad or soup with your entree. I often get the Toscana Soup, but chose the salad and breadsticks this time. They have all the classic pastas like Eggplant Parmigiana, Chicken Parmigiana, Spaghetti, lasagne, Salmon, Steak Gorgonzola, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Carbonara, and many more. They also have a make-your-own option. You choose the kind of pasta you desire (including gluten free options) Rigatoni, Bowtie, Penne, Angela Hair, etc. Then choose your sauce and protein. Of course, there are desserts. I would have ordered the Tiramisu, but was too full after the salad and my entree. The service was very good. Our server came by several times to ensure we were OK and kept our drinks filled. The food was served timely, and was as beautiful as the pictures on the menu. You can order more or pay at your table using the tablet kiosk that is on each table. Or, if you prefer to use cash, you can. I enjoyed my meal. While the place was full, and there was music playing, the noise was not so loud as to hinder conversation. I will return.

My waiter was great. Gave me suggestions as far as gluten free due to my daughters sensitivity. Great food and service.
