Opakapaka Grill and Bar

Absolutely amazing place and wonderful atmosphere. We went in the evening after visiting the beach, kid friendly atmosphere, always playing good hawaiian music and then even had a live performer. The food was absolutely delicious, honestly in the top 2 restaurants we visited on the island. They had gluten free options and made my sister the best gluten free pizza we've ever tasted. The shrimp and fish tacos were the best, and the Opakapaka was delicious. Highly recommend. Also has a great ocean front view and we got to watch the ocean and see a rainbow.

ANYONE WITH ALLERGIES SHOULD AVOID THIS PLACE I'll start by saying the waitress was very nice. That is about where the good things ended for me. I ordered an old fashioned which came watered down and with orange juice in it??? My mistake for not ordering a drink off the 6 drink menu... Then I ate half of the Taro Burger which says gluten free on the menu. It turns out they are ONLY REFERRING TO THE PATTY and the bun is SUPPOSED to be a regular bun full of gluten. Labeling something gluten free is irrelevant if other ingredients in the item contains gluten. Luckily I only get a migraine the next day, but who knows what other allergens they could be doing this with. The nearest Hospital is an hour away and this restaurants practices could be serious for someone else with serious allergies. To top it off they gave our desert to a different table which they claimed was the last one. To be fair, they comped a couple of our drinks and said they were "very busy" but the hostess was on her phone the whole time. We bought a CD from the musician and left the waitress a good tip because she seemed stressed, but this was overall a terrible dining experience and we drove the extra 15 minutes into Hanalei where there was great food/service for the rest of the trip

We have gone a few times now and love it there! Talk about amazing views..it can’t be beat. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. I have celiac disease (gluten free) and they took care of us like family. 100% recommend!
