Ore House at the Pine Grove - Steamboat Springs

We went on the patio in the summer which was beautiful with flowers everywhere and tons of shade. The food is plentiful with a salad bar included in each meal and 2 sides (baked potatoes, onion rings, fries, house potato which was a deep fried potato ball covered in cheese, and broccoli). The chicken we had was really dry, the ribs were fine, the steak was a really tough cut of meat that we didn’t finish. Our daughter’s shrimp on the kid’s menu was the best dish, served on a bed of rice. The veggie burger was ok. I know the place has been here for a while but some of the basics can use some modernizing. Like so many potato based sides and serving shrimp on a bed of rice pilaf. Or serving the chicken hidden under the ribs on the plate. Just a little more refinement would go a long way. I wish the food was better because we had a nice evening and our server was great. They also had just 2 veggie options- a ravioli and veggie burger. But the gluten free options were plentiful with most items being marked gf.
