This is definitely a unique dining experience. The food is good, although much of it is straightforward and not especially inspired. Simply good food in a clean, casual, friendly environment. A little touristy, there is a playground for kids and souvenirs at the register. We dined in the large room overlooking the bay... gorgeous views. The room itself looks dated, but felt clean and fresh.
The fire-grilled oysters are the real reason to be here. Unexpectedly delicious and perfectly grilled, they deliver the fresh oyster taste you expect with a smoky, parmesan smoothness. We all had a salad from the salad bar, and I must say, they have really fresh ingredients and salad components. Delicious housemade dressings. The seafood gumbo was good, but paled in comparison to the oysters. Baked potatoes were well cooked.
Although somewhat limited, they do have an already prepared gluten-free menu which we found helpful. All together, it was a delicious meal and a good experience. We will likely be returning for more of those oysters!
