We were visiting my dad this weekend and he wanted Chinese food. I can't eat gluten, so I avoid it. Having read an article about how Ping makes home cooked food, my dad gave her a call and she was happy to find me options I could eat. When we called back to place the order, she made sure we had lots of options. While we had to wait a bit longer due to high volume of orders (a good sign in my books) she kept us informed of our order status and apologized profusely.
When we got the food home and sat down to eat, it was delicious. Because I can't eat gluten, there was no soy sauce in the dishes (she put it on the side so everyone else could add it to their dishes) and my husband commented that he liked it because it wasn't salty at all which Chinese food often is. The vegetable dishes were filled with loads of fresh vegetables, and cooked to perfection. We ordered the beef and broccoli, chicken vegetable, and pork and bean sprout dishes along with chicken fried rice. The Hot and Sour soup was piping hot and just the right amount of heat. If you don't like spicy, I would choose the wonton soup. My kids ordered the wonton soup and loved it. We also got egg rolls and chicken balls for everyone (besides me) and they told me they were delicious. Sometimes chicken balls can be all batter, but as I watched my daughter cut hers in half I saw it was a very nice proportion of batter to meat. Even with precautions I always worry about feeling sick after eating out due to cross contamination but I felt great. She took my dietary restrictions very seriously. I also like that they don't use MSG. We will definitely be back as I have missed Chinese food.
