Our server was EXCELLENT! Very attentive and helpful with my wheat allergy. She put my food into the system, noting I needed a GF bun and that I had a gluten allergy.
The kitchen, however, added breaded, fried pickles to my burger. I am glad I noticed and could simply take them off...I don't have Celiacs... I have EoE, and a crumb here or there will not make me sick.
I purposely didn't tell the server until the end of the meal because I didn't need a new burger but I did ask her to mention it to the kitchen for the sake of others who may be celiac or anaphalactic.
This isn't a "give them a chance" thing. You get no second chances if someone has a life-threatening allergy. I'm glad I don't.
