The building is nice to look at and it is an interesting experience to eat in this old hall. However: Strong canteen character. Especially if you sit in the main room, which is way too loud. Ambiance is something else.
The food: Typical eco-friendly food for pseudo-conscious educational consumer clientele. Pretty loveless and characterless. It's not bad, but not good either. You just want to be “hip”, which is why the entire menu is completely covered in vegetarian and gluten symbols and eco-bullshit bingo is being practiced in its purest form. I don't think I've ever read "organic", "responsible" or "local" so many times on a menu. The entire map looks like it was written by a party propaganda outlet. Exciting, if culturally very disturbing.
Everything just doesn't seem real. It's a sterile test-tube shop that doesn't really impress with anything. It's a shame that our food arrived cold and the last plate wasn't served until everyone had already finished eating for about 15 minutes.
My 50 cents:
Not worth the money and time. I hope that the beautiful location will find a better use in the future.
PS:
It's good that all the students can earn something extra here. But some of the servers were so disinterested and sometimes used a different tone of voice that it bordered on being unfriendly.
