Panchayat Indian Restaurant

Tried Panchayat, the new restaurant on the block, for the first time. There are North Indian dishes and some Southern Indian influence and flavours (e.g. vegetable sambar). Minimalist decorations and pleasant atmosphere. The music wasn’t loud and obnoxious, which was great. A little quiet but it was Sunday and it was nice to be able to talk. I’d love to see a little more mood lighting, I think that could add to the atmosphere a little more. Friendly, attentive service and owners. We had the aloo Manar paneer and the veg biryani. Both had very authentic flavouring and lots of depth. The biryani was delicious. I’m coeliac so was very excited to see the menu is predominately gluten free. Were open, honest and accommodating for dietary requirement, and notifies you if unable to 100% guarantee traces of gluten. I am coeliac but sometimes have items that may contain things, others may not be so lenient. Great for gluten intolerance and There were vegan and vegetarian options that are also gf. I was so pleased with a gf naan, I can never find this in other restaurants (they did warn of cross contamination). We will definitely be returning. Thank you!
