Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

The food is absolutely delicious! Our waitress was lovely and helpful. My only complaint is that the gluten free menu doesn't have any prices. I ordered fish and broccolini and it was $40. I thought it was a bit pricey although it was, admittedly, delicious.

Their gluten free menu is OBVIOUSLY designed to punish celieacs for asking for gluten free. What my husband ordered from the main menu absolutely should have been gluten free but not listed. The ONLY things I could order was 'naked fish' - which is their term for overcooked piece of fish devoid of flavor. My husband was served a $17 cocktail in a glass with a chip on the rim and missing one of the ingredients!! When he took his glass back to the bar and asked for his orange rind (a very important part of an Old Fashioned) bartender said he had to go back to the kitchen to get an orange. So obviously they didn't have oranges at the bar and rather than make the drink appropriately he thought it better to just omit the ingredient that would cause him extra work! At this point hubbie hadn't noticed chip, it was taking first sip that he noticed it, but given the poor service up to that point he opted to turn his glass around to avoid the chip rather than try to get a replacement. At the end of our meal he took the glass up to the bar and handed it to bartender so they would pitch the glass instead of reusing - the ONLY thing the bartender said was "Oh wow". Only after hubbie walking away did he call after him "You OK?" What we expected was "I'm sorry" - which is the same thing we expected when the drink was missing an ingredient. Never got either time. The waitress almost didn't make eye contact, she was just short of rude, barley short of it. She was either angry that she had to be there or very prejudiced - which I'm inclined to believe because I observed her being talkative and friendly with patrons of color and a group of other servers hanging out on the other side of the bar (very slow when we were in there). I tried joking with her and smiling at her, none of which had any impact on her. Our tab for two fish lunches, one Old Fashioned and one glass of wine was $130 with tip (we only left 20% which we consider the minimum because she wait staff unpleasant. We never tip based on quality of food, only quality of service which is only thing wait staff controls) All in all a very disappointing experience. Mediocre food and poor service. A restaurant is usually successful if they have great food and poor service, or mediocre food but great service. This restaurant does not excel in any category, therefore we would never go back.
