We were excited to try Parlor Doughnuts while visiting Pawleys Island, especially because they offer gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the gluten-free doughnuts didn’t quite hit the mark for us. They were dense, oddly dry yet wet at the same time, and just didn’t resemble a doughnut in taste or texture. At $21 for four, it felt like a miss—especially since I ended up tossing mine. That said, they were sweet enough that my kids still enjoyed theirs.
I will say the staff was friendly, and the shop had a nice atmosphere. I’ve heard great things about the regular doughnuts, so I’m sure those are worth trying if you’re not gluten-free. Just wanted to share our experience in case you’re specifically looking for a good GF treat.
