When looking for restaurants with gluten free options in Blaine, this place was one of the recommendations. Upon arrival, I asked the server which options were gluten free as the menu did not indicate anything, and she quickly told me that they have someone working there who is gluten free who would come over and let me know what options were safe to eat. In fact he walked me through all the options (there are a good amount), and I ultimately went with the chicken street tacos. I also asked for them to be made dairy free (no cheese on anything) and they accommodated that was no problem. Two tacos served with rice and beans and an interesting/delicious coleslaw that I’d never had at a Mexican restaurant before. The portions were huge and the food was really tasty. If ever back in the area, would consider going again!

The food was ok. Not bad, just not great. I thought it was a bit spendy, but after eating at other Mexican restaurants, I find it pretty much in line for dinner prices. They are knowledgeable about gluten, but I ordered one meal with no cheese and the beans came with cheese on them. So, one must be very specific and not assume that just because ordering "no cheese on the enchiladas" it will be understood that there shouldn't be cheese on the beans. Hubs enjoyed his enchiladas and I liked the carnitas, but the rice and beans could use a little tweaking. Portions were generous. *We have since eaten here quite a few times and I have to say the food has either improved or I've learned how to order better. Whichever it might be, I'm changing from three to four stars. The first meal reviewed was one we picked up to take home. After eating there a few times and talking with an employee who must also eat gluten free, I would definitely recommend Paso Del Norte.
