Excellent experience here! We ordered the Caprese pizza, bruschetta, garlic bread, and mushroom risotto. Prices are reasonable considering this is a proper dining experience. Dishes range from about $16 (appetizers) to $23 (mains). We paid ~$80 for four dishes. They have quite a few gluten free and vegetarian options.
Pizza was hands down some of the best I have ever had. The dough is delicious thin crust with goey cheese, sweet balsamic and fresh herbs. Garlic bread was also really tasty. It was served flatbread style with a delicious creamy garlic sauce under the cheese. The meal came with a complimentary appetizer of fresh bread with salted olive oil and balsamic. Super delicious.
The risotto and bruschetta didn’t hit the mark for me. The bruschetta, I found over priced as it was 3 small pieces of bread for 16 dollars if I remember correctly, and it was nothing special at all. The risotto was my first experience with risotto so I do not want to make an unfair comparison, but I personally found that the texture was too dense and the rice felt undercooked. We asked about this and were told that’s how it’s supposed to be so we just went with it! Flavour was okay though :)
The atmosphere was dimly lit with candlelight everywhere, and roman statues decorating the place. I found it to be unique and cozy.
Our server Barb was quick, friendly, and proactive about our needs. Great service.
We went on a Saturday around 6:20 pm and had to reserve at 7:30pm. Not bad since there’s the gorgeous Shakespearean gardens right next to the place! You have to go down stairs to get to the restaurant by the way :)
