Penguin Beer Co

Great spot, good vibes, highly glutenous. A fantastic place for a drink, but if you’re coeliac you better be happy to eat salad. The almost complete lack of gf menu items is disappointing in this day and age!

What a place! We discovered this hidden gem called Penguin Island State Brewery in Devonport. It caught our attention because it offers gluten-free food. The next day, we drove there and were pleased to see the same waitress. We had driven from Forth Valley (which has amazing countryside) to Penguin by the sea. What a gorgeous little town with great beer and a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit!

The venue has a great atmosphere and the staff is kind and attentive. They offer a wide selection of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, along with plenty of regular options. The local beers are excellent. The burgers and chips were delicious. Overall, it was a great experience.
