The food is very high-quality and brilliantly-presented - and I say that as a former chef. For those not experienced in hospitality, it's also good to be able to have the floor-to-ceiling window into the final bakery prep area where you can see the patissiers rolling their croissants.
The service was somewhat slow given the place was only about two-fifths full. However, it seems like the sort of place where the people who go expect to sit there for an hour or two drinking coffees and chatting, I saw a woman relaxing with her laptop and then catching up with a friend, she was there before and after us.
They're definitely not the sort of place that rushes you out once you're finished, and the staff are unobtrusive and helpful. There were several parents with children who were obviously quite welcomed there. I went with my adult daughter, but the place would be suitable for anything from a casual coffee to a romantic lunch date.
They have vegan, gluten-free and so on options for customers who are suffering from eating disorders and Munchausen's Syndrome.
