Perk! Coffee & Lunchbox

We really love Perks coffee and food options! However, several times we have ordered the gluten free bread options and the audible comments about how much of a burden and frustrating they are to make have turned us away.

This is my comfort coffee shop and my bi-weekly reward for grocery shopping. They take celiac disease seriously and prevent cross contamination as much as they can for gluten free bagels. It’s so appreciated and it does wonders for my mental health to know I’ll be safe at this coffee shop. My favorite drink is the iced wafflelatte. I order it every time. Usually I’ll get a gluten free everything “the works” bagel with salmon. If I’m craving it, I’ll get one of the gluten free brownies. You can’t go wrong with what you order here, it’s all incredible.

Cute place and I like that you can buy local berries and snacks. However, service is hit or miss. We came here a couple weeks ago during off peak time for 3 sandwiches. It took over an hour. For three sandwiches. Coffee seems expensive but I am not one to order the fancy sugary coffee drinks. The drip coffee was fine but had a very acidic finish. Their gluten free bread is utterly disgusting and I ended up scraping the pimento cheese off the bread and eating it with chips because it was so dry I couldn’t even swallow the bread.
