I noticed this place after I had already eaten one evening but I thought it looked interesting as I particularly like beef Pho. The combination of chilli heat, citrus and coriander is particularly appealing, so I went there the next day.
The place was quite busy with a fairly young crowd. There were lots of different types of Pho which worries me because it must be difficult to provide a good stock appropriate for each meat. I usually go for places that just do beef, but this time I disregarded the problem.
In the end I didn't notice the stock because of other issues. The noodles were supposed to be flat rice noodles but they weren't. They weren't flat and I assume they weren't rice. If I had a gluten allergy I would be most unhappy. The beef was fine but the soup lacked heat, citrus flavours and aromatics, the very things I want. There was a lime segment so a squeeze of that partly improved matters, but only 1 thin slice of chili so I had to use Sriracha sauce to hot things up a bit. No coriander was provided, only basil.
Although the food prices were reasonable, the soft drinks were a bit more expensive than some of the competition. I had a Saigon beer and didn't enjoy it very much. Overall very disappointing and I won't be back.
