Picasso's Gourmet Deli

My wife and I come here whenever we pass through town. The owners and staff treat you like family. They actually gave me a fresh chocolate chip cookie out of the oven while I was deciding on a sandwich. Plus, my wife absolutely loves their vegan, gluten-free lemon cookies. It's normally hard to find such a tasty treat when you have food allergies like hers. They even offered to ship some cookies up to Seattle for her. We came late and ended up staying past closing time, but they still made us a couple lattes for the road.

They don't list it in their online menu but we called ahead and they have gluten-free bread available. My husband and teen went for traditional sourdough but we all really enjoyed our sandwiches. My teen also really liked the side of potato salad. Before we left we bought a bag of the bakers almond flour lemon cookies. I don't think the cookies are a regular menu item but if they have them when you visit definitely pick up a bag. They're the perfect summer cookie. Chewy sweet and lemony. We visited a few days ago when we were on a family roadtrip to visit Yosemite and by unanimous agreement, next time we come through this way we're stopping by Picassos deli.
