So happy to finally have authentic Italian pizza local to me! The owner (I believe his name is Heri) and the staff are super friendly. After ordering pizza here a few times, one day Heri and I got to chat and he mentioned he’s from Sicily and has been making pizza all his life. You can absolutely tell from the glutenous texture of the dough to the depth of flavor of the sauce. I grew up in a Tuscan/Sicilian household so I know when an Italian has made my pizza (or someone taught to make pizza the Italian way)…when the dough is thin but chewy and the undercarriage is crisp, with just the right ratio of sauce to cheese, this is classic Italian pizza. No thick soggy slices with carpets of cheese and bland canned sauce. I don’t bother getting pizza anywhere else unless I’m down in NYC or the burroughs. Their sandwiches and bagels are great too.
