We wanted to go for dinner and asked to make sure the establishment took into account cross-contamination and was gluten-free.
Unfortunately, when we politely asked how the process was done, since they claim to do it in the same oven, we were met with defensive, impatient, and unprofessional treatment. Asking about how cross-contamination is handled isn't an attack, but a legitimate concern from someone who values their health. The tone and responses we received were not only unnecessarily harsh, but also left the impression that questioning your methodology was problematic.
At no point were you judged; we simply wanted to understand your approach to controlling contamination so as not to put anyone at risk.
As a customer, especially in a topic as sensitive as offering gluten-free options, it's not just about offering the product, but about building trust and demonstrating security and a bit of empathy to people, who, in addition to lacking it, seem to be conflicted about wanting to understand your procedure. Simply disappointing; asking about these issues isn't an attack, but a legitimate concern from someone who values their health.
