Took way too long to get our 4 bowls made. Three had identical bases.
We were with another group that ordered separate and in front of us. They got their bowls and smoothie in a timely manor.
Two mobile orders and the person who ordered a smoothie behind us got their food before we did. The mobile orders walked in and out without waiting - seemed like 1 bowl per order judging by their bags.
Ours came out about 5 mins after all of those products were served.
It felt like our order was pushed down the priority list because it was larger than the other orders. The result was me having to repetitively answer to my kids why it was taking so long and why the person after is already got their food.
Food was on point, no issues and it was delicious.
In the past I’ve ordered ahead, today we chose Playa Bowls to meet at with others. I’ll keep this in rotation with our order ahead bowl spots like Bahia Bowls and others but won’t plan on choosing this spot to meet friends at.
I saw this was replied to with an explanation that extra preparation is done to accommodate plant based substitutions - my feedback - I highly recommend you ask the customer if that’s their preference.
While we’re plant based and my daughter has a milk allergy, we’re Ok if the blender jars have been rinsed that previously used those products. If an entirely new set of blender jars or utensils was needed, it’s best to have that ready to go as an “allergy setup”.
I was in food operations for fast casual brands for 15+ years, there are ways to mitigate how long this takes. You can even look at your modifier report to see how many “sub for gluten free” or other modifiers are requested to prepare for the most common.
We would most likely have been fine with shared equipment and a fresh glove change.
I’ve been in the weeds with multiple orders from different channels, I know what my eyes saw. We were skipped that day for quicker ticket finishes.
