Playwrights Cafe - Coventry Canal Basin

Loved our stop here. Very warm & inviting and great gluten-free options. Dogs inside is not our favourite thing but the other strengths of this cafe more than compensate.

So happy to see Playwrights open again. Very hard to find a decent place that does great breakfasts served hot and that cater for vegan, veggie and gluten free diners. Really missed this place!!!

Amazing place! Food is always so good and it’s in a lovely part of the city right by the canal side. I have eaten here many times, both my boyfriend and myself have intolerances and we’ve never had any issues, the staff are very knowledgeable and really friendly and the menu is clearly marked. They even update their menu to swap to items with less allergens in them if they can. For example we never used to be able to have the black pudding but they’ve since found a new supplier and it’s gluten free. I have recently attended a vegan evening (food in the photos) and it did not disappoint!!!!!! I can’t recommend this cafe enough and I always look forward to my visits here. Thank you!!!
