Never have I posted a review before but had to share my disappointing experience at Polo.
Three of us in our family have coeliac disease and we love when we find somewhere that does a gluten free chicken. At polo, the staff wear gloves but don’t change them between customers. For example, they touch focaccia and others types of gluten and allergens then put hands in chicken bag and pick up the chickens. I guess this is ok for people that don’t have allergies.
Anyone that works in hospitality these days should understand that coeliacs need to be careful of cross contamination.
When ordering the chook, I very kindly asked if they could change gloves and explained why. This was ignored and handed a chicken. I then had to ask again for a different chicken with clean gloves. The owner/manager continued to ignore me. After 5 mins of standing there I asked again. I was taken back at how I was spoken to and treated.
I don’t think I was asking for much…..
Safe to say we won’t be going back.
