Premier Inn Ulverston hotel

Stayed here for 4 nights and really liked the room. Spacious and clean. Chloe was great, and my child felt very welcomed there. However, the lack of signage for electric vehicle bay caused a lot of frustration. I understand that a hotel can't police who parks in those bays, but if they were to ask if someone has an electric vehicle, then you can at least ask them to be a decent human being and not leave the car on charge for days at a time so others can't use it. The electric vehicle point and the fact that I got served a gluten meal, despite saying numerous times that I am gluten free, has really put a damper on the stay. However, the management was good and checked to make sure we were happy.

Stayed at Premier Inn Ulverston with my mum who has mobility issues.  Could only book a disabled room with over bath shower as one with a wet room wasn't available.  1st morning my mum had a shower and when trying to get out ended up sat in the bath unable to get herself out, I also couldn't help. Went to reception and the young lady there (Chloe) got a female colleague (unfortunately didn't get her name) and they where able to get my mum up and out of the bath. They were really helpful and made sure my mum wasn't hurt and didn't feel (too) embarrassed.  They also checked and found a room with wetroom was being vacated that day and moved us into there for the rest of our stay. We decided to have breakfast there and the food was amazing, we had the cooked breakfast and this put us on virtually till our evening meal. The food was hot and freshly cooked. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly,  when asking for anything you never felt you were being a nuisance.  They would ask if we had plans for the day and in the evening if we had had a good day, always with genuine interest. As a visitor to the area with mobility issues I would recommend visiting the Manjushri Meditation Centre, it is a beautiful temple, peaceful and has a good solid ramp to be able to get into the temple (we missed the mediation sessions unfortunately) and there is a fab cafe with lovely cakes, gluten free and vegan available. Another good place to visit is Grizedale forest, you can rent a Tramper Mobility Scooter and there is a 5 mile circular route for the Tramper. Hire costs as of 10th Sept 2021 is £2.50 for membership for 14 days or £10 for a year! incredible value. Another must is the Handmade Ice-cream Parlour in Greenodd, great tasting and good prices, also vegan varieties available.
