The Princess Charlotte

I haven't been to The Princess Charlotte since Covid and was interested to see if it had changed. They have developed an extension at the back which was beautifully decorated and we were sat quickly. My friend was gluten free so normally her options are very limited and she struggles to enjoy food outings without feeling like she has the same options as others. She was thrilled when she was given a whole gluten free menu and it matched a lot of the main menu too. The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. I had the hummus bowl while my friend had the gluten free pulled chicken cottage pie - both were delicious. It was very enjoyable, feel good food. However, it wasn't the food or the atmosphere which will make us want to come again. It is Georgina. What a wonderful server! She was kind and attentive. She gave brilliant recommendations and made us feel so welcome with little conversations and a smile that made you forget it was pouring down with rain outside. She even offered us a takeaway bag too for our leftovers. The art of service has been lost since Covid and I can't remember the last time I had felt like I had been 'looked after' at a restaurant, but Georgina is a shining light at The Princess Charlotte and I hope we see her again soon.

My family came in for a late lunch yesterday. We grabbed a drink at the bar and then we were seated in no time at all. The bar staff and the lady that arranged our table were really welcoming. Special thanks to Mya who was really attentive and took the time to double check a few things on the gluten free menu to ensure my husband could enjoy his roast dinner without worry. Mya was really personable and it was a pleasure to have her serve us. We all ordered a variety of dishes and all were great. Parking was easy and atmosphere was kid friendly.
