If you have celiac, I am sorry to say you shouldn’t get the gluten free wraps. The first time I reached out to the store and was like Hey, you guys really should try harder when it comes to food allergens. This time though was beyond unacceptable. I told the lady behind the counter we would both (my celiac daughter and I) be getting gluten free wraps. I tried to order a Havana bold. The lady informed that because one of the hams in the sub had been recalled she couldn’t make it. I asked if she could replace it when any other ham from their “deli” and she said they only had two options, which I find kind of hard to believe. Anyways I said I’ll take that and she said you want a half or whole and I said we will both be getting the gluten free wraps. And she said ok two Havana bolds and ran away. And when I mean ran away I tried calling after her to say only one was Havana and everyone in the deli heard me yell except her. So she’s cutting the ham bring it back and I said only I will be getting the Havana bold so she proceeds to cut it and dramatically throw away the half she won’t be using. Then it’s my daughters turn. I ask if she can have a clean knife to negate cross contamination and she said you know everything here touches the bread right? So she again very dramatically goes and gets a knife from the back. She asks my daughter if she would like mayo then proceeds to use the knife in the mayo sauce to dress her gluten free wrap. I’m truly amazed. So seafood allergies, peanut allergies, do those mean anything or is it just my daughter who had just left the doctors sick due to her three immune diseases and all she wanted out of alllllll the options in PCB was a freaking wrap from Publix. I posted on our celiac group if everyone had issues at places that have gluten free options and they said the best bet is jersey mikes they won’t make you feel like a second class citizen. So I guess we will be driving into town to jersey mikes from now on. Thanks Publix.

Publix is always an incredible store, but Publix at Breakfast Point is pretty unique in terms of the cleanliness, the amount of positive, upbeat, younger employees, learning the ropes of working a job. In addition to that, the stock is always kept up, and Gluten Free items, in general, are relatively easy to find.
