A lovely tea room with polite and friendly staff. Firstly, there was plenty of parking and access was easy for me as I have mobility issues. The tea room was clean and tidy with pretty tablecloths and nicely decorated.
We did not feel rushed or pestered to hurry and the atmosphere was relaxing and calming with views of the river from the back of the tea room.
We were given plenty of time to choose our food and there was a good selection of options, including gluten free items.
We opted for a jacket potato with cheese and baked beans and a mature cheddar cheese and onion chutney sandwich made with seeded bread. Both meals were served with a generous side salad and salted crisps. The food was delicious and prepared with care. We then chose to have desserts and there was again, a good selection. My friend chose an Ice cream sundae and I had warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Again, both delicious and beautifully presented. All the cakes appeared to be home made as we did see two ladies arriving with beautiful cakes in clear boxes. I even brought fruit scones with jam and clotted cream home for my husband as there is a takeaway service too.
