It's true folks - the perfect restaurant does exist. They recently opened for dinner service and every aspect of my evening was divine. To my delight dish our group ordered could be done gluten free with the best GF bread I've ever had. On top of it all, very reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the food. Highly recommend!

Since adopting a vegan gluten-free diet, Radish wasn't on the top of my list even though I used to really enjoy their breakfast sandwich. In fact, we were heading towards a vegan sushi place on Granville Island when my partner decide eat at Radish. I found three salads on the menu I could live with, so we sat down near the patio. A pile of sourdough buns on the kitchen counter caught my eyes, which means no gluten-free for me today. The server was extremely pleasant in helping me weed out garlic and non vegan items in the Spicy Carrot Sandwich like replacing the romesco sauce with white bean hummus and chevre goat cheese. My partner chose the breakfast sandwich with no cheese and bacon, but with smoked salmon instead. Their home made sourdough bun was crunching on the outside and extremely chewy and spongy inside which was delightful. My sandwich was filled with tenderly roasted rainbow carrots with arugula on top, and a side salad. The carrots were quite spicy, I couldn't have been able to handle more than the sandwich portion. Both sandwiches were very delicious. Unlike some other arrogant restaurants who claim they 'politely decline modifications to their menu' – which is another way of saying their kitchen hadn't thought through how they can feed people with diet restrictions – this place was able to modified on-the-fly for vegans. The problem is, they tend to change their menu from time to time, so when we went back for the same food again two weeks later, their menu had already changed, and smoke salmon was no longer available, neither was the hummus. Come to think of it, this was the reason took time off this place. I neglected to mention 'vegan' to the server on this visit, and so ended up with a sandwich with goat cheese which I is not vegan and on my list what I shouldn't eat. I'm getting to appreciate just how pleasant and helpful our previous server was.
