Redworth Hall Hotel

The food was very good, breakfast had plenty of choice even for gluten free ( bread, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, jam, cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc. Our room was spacious and clean. We used the ironing board and an iron which was handy. The only disappointing experience was a full spa at 4:30pm on Saturday. After a day walk we wanted to enjoy the steam and sauna,but were turned down. Going in after a big meal wasn't as enjoyable. And it felt cold by the pool. The steam room could do with a bucket of water or a hose so you don't have to sit on the previous person's sweat ( but that's a common problem in the UK). In a sauna people should sit on towels or bedsheets as well to avoid the sweat soaking into the wood.

My daughter's paid for afternoon tea for mother's day (but Monday). It was booked well in advance. We are a family who have coeliacs disease and need to be gluten free. The tea was very disappointing considering the cost. The GF bread was stale, not buttered, no scones given a couple of slices of old watermelon instead. They ran out of bread for one of my daughters and she got bread rolls which looked better than the bread. One of my daughters asked for almond milk for her coffee but non available only soya milk. I have had afternoon tea in many places and this was the worse ever. Made worse for me as it was present from my daughter's.
