Hello.
I came to eat at the restaurant last night.
A disappointment.
The burgers aren't fabulous. Even though they're homemade, they shouldn't be so disappointing.
It is. Unfortunately.
Certainly, the plate is clean. The presentation is simple, no fuss. The burgers don't fall apart. They're presentable.
But...
But...
How can I put it, there's no magic. There's no alchemy going on. I could have had all the elements of a burger on a separate plate, and it would have been the same.
But when you eat a burger, it shouldn't be like that. You should have stars in your eyes with every bite. We're far from it.
The bun isn't toasted. That's the bare minimum, though. The top bun is hard because it's been under the grill, I imagine.
No sauce on the burger. Apart from the cheese sauce. Let's talk about the sauce, which was way too thick for my taste. (Roquefort)
I also tried my partner's sauce (cheddar), and it wasn't much better in my opinion. A matter of taste. This kind of sauce is all the rage these days. It's disgusting.
The salad was served with three measly leaves, nothing else... No seasoning. So yes, at the table, there's what you need (olive oil, vinegar).
But at least make a vinaigrette or salad dressing in the kitchen. It doesn't make you want anything.
In the salad, you can add 2-3 pieces of red cabbage, radish, carrot, onion, pickles, etc. Three pieces per plate, the restaurant won't go under for that. It's prettier. It makes you want it. It doesn't sit in a corner of the plate unnecessarily.
The mayonnaise. My god. It was advertised as homemade when the food was served. I thought it was cool. Disappointment once again. This mayonnaise has no flavor. None. Seriously, mayonnaise, anyway. I don't understand.
I was in the business. Mayonnaise is the bare minimum.
We're on the verge of a cold burger. Really on the verge.
There were two of us. We arrived first. A 20-minute wait for two burgers.
First customer of the evening and already problems like this at the beginning of the service.
I imagine at the end of the service.
I can't understand how, when making homemade food, it's such a disappointment when you eat it.
Too bad.
No feedback was given during the meal. We absolutely didn't have time. Meet at 8 p.m. at the dance.
So we didn't ask for anything. That's why no feedback was given from us. It wouldn't have changed anything about the burger in any case.
For me, it's a huge disappointment. I didn't enjoy myself at all. When I go out to eat, that's the goal. Otherwise, I eat at home.
We're looking at a €20 burger, though. That's huge. I expect more than that. With two glasses of basic wine, that adds up to almost €50.
Excuse me. But for me, that's a bit of a steal.
There are burgers in Narbonne for €5 less, much tastier, much more indulgent.
The big negative is the food.
A positive point to end with some encouragement:
Offering gluten-free bread is good for people in need.
The waitress was kind. Professional. Fast. Nothing to complain about.
The restrooms are clean.
A children's playground in front to avoid noise and boredom for the children is also a good thing.
Good luck.
