Restaurant Theo's

Not recommended for allergy sufferers (gluten/celiac disease). We visited this restaurant on our vacation. Unfortunately, there are a few reasons why we didn't feel safe and wouldn't recommend going here for a gluten-free diet: When we mentioned that we had to follow a gluten free diet and would like to see a menu with allergens labeled, we were told they didn't have that and would just tell the kitchen to leave out the gluten, which wasn't really a reassuring answer. I only chose a salad as I didn't feel comfortable choosing anything else. The allergens were labeled on the menu, but there was no explanation as to which letter represented which allergen. We have pointed out several times that cross-contamination should be avoided. It was quite difficult to be heard as the waiter was very busy and only briefly inquired about us. They brought gf bread (Schär) along with non-gf bread and also didn't offer a separate spread for the gf bread. The bread was already covered in mold. They apologized and brought sealed new Schär products instead. Overall the general experience at the restaurant was pretty poor as the tables were not served with much attention.

The big advantage is that Theo's also offers gluten-free food and the kitchen and service take this into account. This time we ordered the recommendation of the day and a vegetarian dish on Easter Monday. The food and service were good, only the asparagus cream soup was a slip-up on the part of the kitchen, unfortunately any packet soup is better!
