One of the best meals I've ever had. The fish courses would fit in at Le Bernardin, without the need for a grand room. Unpretentious and exceptional. Four of us shared virtually every dish on the menu. It was presented in order as if an 8-course meal--but that is certainly not required; it's how it turned out. However, as we did it, it was sublime. My wife is celiac and they either had no wheat in every dish, or they prepared the dish slightly modified. The cheesecake, which is gluten free, was a marvelous ending. But all the desserts were great. Relaxed service as well. Four stars for atmosphere, because it's a taverna setting. But it's exactly what it should be. So five stars for leaning into the local establishment feeling.

We loved our first experience here so much that we came back several days later - our favorite meals in Girona! The service was fabulous and friendly. Every dish we had was delicious. The tuna tartare and bonito ‘tiradito’ were both amazing and the skate wing was a fun adventure - so tender, buttery and unlike anything I’ve tasted before. We loved the generous portion of mussels with creative curry sauce. We had both beef dishes they served over those two days - terrine and a filet - and they were perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The flan and cheesecake were divine. Most options are gluten free but be sure to ask as you might have to sacrifice a sauce or two - the chef was knowledgeable and accommodating. They offer a well-chosen wine list with local options and wonderful values. The restaurant is on a quiet street and is cozy and quaint. Its small, but they have maximized space without making it feel cramped. I would recommend reservations on a weekend. We were able to walk in during the week right at the 8pm opening, but it filled up quickly. Enjoy!
