I'll start with one of two negative points: Due to the size of the group and the desire to sit "on the edge", we sat close to a garbage can in the neighboring building. Every now and then there was a bit of a smell of garbage, but it quickly disappeared thanks to the sea wind. There was no smell of it away from where we were sitting either.
Otherwise the ambience was wonderful, the live music was never disturbing in volume. The restaurant, located in a small square, invited you to linger. A nice end to the day trip, especially on a warm summer evening.
The service was always extremely attentive and friendly. Both the drinks and the food came without a long wait and at the same time for everyone present. The menu was available in four languages (Croatian, Italian, German and English) and symbolized vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. The selection of vegetarian dishes was good, but there were no vegan options according to the menu.
Two green salads, a tuna carpaccio and a tomato soup were ordered as starters. Pasta with truffle (2x), gnocchi with truffle, beetroot risotto with burrata, pici with Istrian beef/ragu, gnocchi with pork fillet, spaghetti with scampi and chili and grilled salmon with baked potatoes as a main course. Apart from a little salt (everyone present added more salt), every dish tasted excellent.
The portion size was appropriate and corresponded to the rather upscale atmosphere. Quality trumps quantity here. Gladly again!
At the end there was the usual Rakja on the house.
