Lunch on 01/03/2025 The restaurant is convenient if you are visiting the nature preserve nearby. Well, it’s kind of the only thing nearby. Stopped because they have a gf menu and my wife has celiac disease. My mom has catfish almandine and I had red beans and rice with catfish. Both dishes were served at slightly above room temp and were average tasting, at best. The true disappointment was that we specifically said on multiple occasions that my wife was gluten free. We were told no issues preparing. The shrimp came served on a piece of bread and the fries were obviously covered in some type of breading with cracklings in them. We asked the server to come over and explained the situation. She offered another side and to fix the issue. Less than 90 seconds later she back up at the table with prepared shrimp and slaw. I looked at her and said, “Please tell me the kitchen didn’t just take the shrimp off the bread and put it on another plate?” She said, “yes.”I was appalled at the lack of care for a restaurant that advertises a gf menu. There is a diffence between a gf diet and celiac disease and if you don’t understand the importance of allergic reactions you should not say you have any gf options. Food was 5.5/10c as nothing taste better at room temp. Never had a manager come to table to apologize. Would never go back.

The gem of the swamp! This place was recommended to us and we couldn't be happier to have started out here! My wife and I are both gluten free. They had a nice gluten free menu and we're attentive to our needs. The food was excellent! The Cajun redfish with the jumbalaya was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We definitely recommend this place for travelers. It's good for families as well.
