You don’t often find gem restaurants like this one. What a beautiful restaurant. It’s such an iconic building with lovely benches to eat outside and a really charming dining room with beams and wooden cladded walls. The food was amazing: my husband had smoked whale and I had the halibut tartare - both were a sheer delight to eat - seasoned to perfection. They offered me gluten free bread to accompany my tartare dish which was greatly appreciated. For the main course, we ate the catch of the day: cod fried in oil instead of butter (what a dream!) served with mashed potatoes, soy beans and other vegetables normally. The dish is normally served with a white whine sauce, but I asked not to have it which they were completely fine with. Last but not least, the cocktails. They require a special mention as they were truly special. Our brilliant waiter/manager of the establishment Frode recommended the„More Fun“ cocktail to me - made with a fruity version of the local Aquavite, rhubarb and Prosecco. The cocktail was so yummy that my husband ordered one for himself. What a gem on this beautiful hidden away island! PS: the following night we had the monk fish catch of the day dish and it was even better.
