I indicate below the response to the owner who responded based on what was indicated above: I would like to clarify some concept and give some background, we have been coming to Sitges in the summer for more than 10 years, you can imagine that during this time we have been able to visit quite a few restaurants, with which we have not had any problems regarding this issue. Without going any further, the restaurant they have right next door is true professionals in both service and product quality. There is a very interesting point in your comment that is precisely what I want to clarify when you say that “We could have explained all of this to you when making your reservation if you had warned us about all of them, which you did not do.” That is precisely where our displeasure begins. Do you think we are not going to indicate the intolerances and allergens that exist??, this already tells me everything... The owner was changing the price of the menu that day and we approached to ask if we could reserve a table They had the issue of allergens under control, we explained everything in detail, everything there was, he answered that we would not have any problems, he pointed it out and when we arrived we discussed it again, if he had told us that they could not provide us with service we would have gone to another restaurant and that's it, nothing happens. What cannot be is that we say things that later do not comply, especially when it comes to such a sensitive issue. We ordered three menus and the only thing they could offer one of us was a steak with potatoes and some salad leaves (we ordered a menu, not a la carte and they charged us at a la carte price, the difference was only €1 but that was the detail). Another person who only has celiac disease ordered an esqueixada where it is indicated on the menu that it did not contain gluten, they serve her the dish and the cook comes running because she could not eat that dish…. If we did not report the intolerance and were guided by what is written that it does not contain gluten, it could have made him feel bad. By this I mean that they indicate some allergens in the letter that are not controlled later. Of course we are aware that the offer of your menu and of any restaurant is reduced, we were also surprised that they were not able to offer a gluten-free paella when rice is precisely one of the few cereals that does not contain gluten and paella does not have why carry gluten. With these comments, the only thing I want to state is that if there are people who are in a similar situation, they know what they are facing, and that this information can reach the associations and public health organizations that are working on food safety. We are not talking about any nonsense and with his comments the least he could have done to preserve his minimum dignity would have been to apologize. With how beautiful Sitges is and how many professional restaurants there are, it is a shame to have had this bad experience but you learn from everything, let's see if you also learn that you have a lot of work to do. Very good restaurant. Very well located with sea view and full sun. Varied menu: meat, fish etc. With indications on products with or without gluten etc. The staff is very cheerful. Very good value for money
