DISCRIMINATION FOR BEING CELIAC.
At the restaurant, we received good treatment, good food, and good service. But to my surprise, when we went to pay, the bill included a surcharge simply because there was a celiac person at our table. The same dishes, served to the table next to us where there was NO celiac, were NOT charged this surcharge.
The owner's reasoning was: "You're celiac, and your table pays more for it." As a celiac, I perfectly understand being charged more for bread or beer, but why should a dish that is prepared and served equally to ALL DINERS (made gluten-free for everyone, not just for me) have to be charged extra?
This has never happened to me in any other restaurant in Spain.
VERY UNFAIR. Of course, I am reporting this to FACE (Spanish Federation of Celiac Associations).
