Rhön Park Hotel

We had a really lovely few days in the Rhön Mountains. Our room was renovated and truly beautiful. Unfortunately, the refrigerator didn't get cold enough. Since we had a small kitchen with us, we expected something different. The staff was really nice, and since I have to eat gluten-free, they gave me really competent advice at the buffet. They even gave me rolls for breakfast. The area is huge, and unfortunately, you can only book activities like mini golf or an escape tour through the entertainment team and not at the regular reception. Since the distances are so long, that's a real shame in the digital age. Otherwise, I highly recommend the hotel. The kids had fun playing mini golf, in the indoor playground, and on the outdoor areas.

Edit: Feel free to read the manager's responses to critical reviews; then you'll already know a lot about the level of management... The price-performance ratio here is completely out of the question. The Deluxe Apartment was beautiful, but it also costs a lot of money. Daily cleaning, by the way, is an extra charge. In contrast to the room, the food, in our opinion, was really bad! There wasn't even salmon at breakfast, no fried eggs, instead scrambled eggs from a bucket. However, breakfast is still the better part of the meal. Dinner was really bad. Healthy eating is nonexistent. MSG and gluten are very important, gluten-free diets are not possible here, there's no fresh vegetables, etc. The idea here is to provide as much food as possible for as little money as possible. Some of the sauces are inedible and come from a bucket. The appearance and consistency alone are impressive. Surely every chef can make their own herb sauce for the fish? There's no choice of dishes at the buffet. One meat, one fish (and that's frozen too), and a few side dishes. For conscious eaters, this is a complete disaster. Desserts are inedible and there's no choice, usually just a whipped sugar mush that's then labeled, for example, as panna cotta, but doesn't even taste like it. The ambiance and quality are closer to a bad canteen; it's all about getting masses of guests through. The entire hotel is simply loud, all the furnishings outdated. Relaxation is nonexistent! Except for the swimming pool and the games area, everything is extra, and it costs a lot of money. Even in the games area, there are vending machines everywhere and additional charges. Bowling costs €25 per hour plus shoe rental. 3 minutes of bumper cars costs €0.50. A cup of coffee costs €4.10. Currywurst with fries costs over €7.50, etc. And all this in the middle of the Rhön... The icing on the cake are the planned parking costs starting in March, at around €5 per day. Incomprehensible given this location in the forest. For us, it was all an expensive letdown.
