Ristorante Tar-Tufo

We chose Tartufo for the romantic sunset views and the possibility of gluten-free pasta. The view truly was stunning, exactly what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up. They do offer gluten-free options, but only if confirmed in advance (not the same day), something we weren’t aware of until we arrived. We decided to stay anyway because of the atmosphere. The dishes we tried were okay at best, but overall underwhelming. Presentation felt a bit pompous, but the flavors just didn’t deliver. We were also served an appetizer we didn’t order, and were charged for it. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but the food wasn’t memorable. Service was fine. Not bad, not great. If you’re going for the view, it’s lovely. But for the food? I wouldn’t recommend it.

Exemplary attention to Gluten Free! Homemade gluten free bread, Pasta and Desserts. A delight! We had to celebrate and Tar-Tufo is always a guarantee. Maintaining this level and always being able to innovate is only noteworthy and a sign of the love that the guys put into their work! Always new and tasty menu, very well-kept place, we ate outside, under the gaze of the Torre del Mangia accompanying the dinner with an excellent bottle of impeccably recommended bubbles. The dishes speak for themselves, if you pass by Siena, you just have to try them to believe them. We will be back soon, with a little one to introduce you to ☺️ Thanks Guys ☺️

We ate here with a group of 4 for lunch while visiting Siena. One of us was gluten free and that was no problem at all as they had made special preparation ahead of our reservation including some of the best gluten free homemade bread I have ever had. We probably had the best dining and food experience during our entire trip to Siena which also included a few days in Florence. Everything was prepared and served with so much care. They are very generous with the tartufo(truffles) honoring the name of their restaurant. We loved and enjoyed every bite and the ambiance of the restaurant was just beautiful. I can only recommend this amazing restaurant.
