Exceptional is little. Chef Andrea Funi is one of the best restaurateurs I have met, the best from 2020 to today without a doubt. His passion and enthusiasm shine through immediately, because he is the one who welcomes you and puts you at ease, who tells his story (which is then in the food he offers) and makes you feel at home. His restaurant La Grotta1918 is small, welcoming, full of suggestions which obviously can only make someone like me who is historic inside and out say "Hallelujah". Food is the son of our wonderful Apennines, small producers but huge in their passion and care for the territory. The Cave is at a crossroads of history and stories, in an apparently pleasant place but of a unique beauty. I had a great time, even being welcomed as a celiac, the proposal is full of ideas and pleasant eating surprises! Even if the real surprise is in being teetotal or not drinking once. I don't want to reveal the surprise, I'm just telling you that it's worth it just to drink a special bottle as a teetotaler... listen to me! Last but not least, the menu is sent to you at the time of booking, so you can calmly get an idea and study; these days, always during ultra marathons, it's a nice experience to be able to reflect on what to eat, I don't know about you, but I find it a special treat. A big thank you to the staff which is made up of excellent waitresses and THANKS again to Andrea Funi, a pleasant discovery and a great lover of the area! Still here? Go ahead, book now!!
