My partner and I were passing through San Benedetto and were looking for a good place where we could both eat good fresh fish. My partner has celiac disease and in the afternoon we were ordering gluten-free pasta and pizzas in this bakery in the city to which we asked for advice on where to have dinner that perhaps also had a couple of gluten-free options, and they pointed us to this fishmonger's restaurant which was not certified, but who could satisfy the request as they were sensitive to the problem. A little discouraged by the fact that the place was not on the sea, we convinced ourselves and booked by telephone also asking for some info. Whoever answered the phone was very kind, patient and attentive in providing us with all the necessary clarifications, which I can assure you is not something many people do, so we felt even more confident in our choice. The evening was perfect, they prepared us a plentiful, light and very varied fried fish. The fish was very fresh and tasted heavenly. As a second appetizer we take a trio of tartare which literally drove us crazy for the quality of the product and the presentation. Lastly we go to a plate of fresh pasta with clams and mussels and a gluten-free mezze sleeve with seafood. The portions were exaggerated, lots of pasta and lots of mussels on my plate and lots of pasta and seafood on my partner's. Other positive notes are the very simple and very clean place, the jazz music in the background which allowed us to converse calmly with excellent accompaniment, the competent and never intrusive waiters, and the bill... generous frying for two, plate of 3 tartares mixed, 2 first courses, glass of wine, two of sparkling water and 2 coffees, total 65 euros.
If you pass by San Benedetto and you love each other, don't worry, you won't regret it.
