PLEASE TRIPLE CHECK THE MENU FOR DIERTY OR ALLERGY REQUIREMENTS! The first time I came to this restaurant, it was incredible and definitely worth a 5 star rating. However, having visited for the second time in less than 6 months the menu had been rewritten and made extremely confusing to vegetarians. At first glance it looks great as there's lots of (V) symbols on the menu, but when you read the listed ingredients to some of the "vegetarian" dishes they have things like Crab meat, and parmesan, to which I asked if it is vegetarian parmesan and explained that if the parmesan had renet in it, then it is not vegetarian making the Mac and cheese bon bons NOT vegetarian, even though they are listed as vegetarian! When I read the ingredients of some of the (V) listed food options to the waitress, she said "oh yeah that's not vegetarian". Then when you start to look at the rest of the menu, there are things that are obviously vegetarian not listed as vegetarian. It made choosing a meal extremely difficult and I felt like a nuisance asking the waitress all these questions and she kept having to go ask the chefs. I questioned the menu with the waitress and some of the response was "I was off the day they changed the menu" which I understand but surely the staff should know the menu? I thought as a restaurant it was their responsibility to ensure that customers knew what they were eating. It made me very anxious eating my food, and I also thought about people with allergies eating here might also feel anxious. The food this time round was ok, it wasn't anything to rave about but definitely didn't match the price tag! I had the ramen with tofu at £14 and I thought the Weatherspoons version was much better! I also didn't finish it. The staff weren't massively attentive, my friend had finished their drinks with their starter and they didn't ask if we wanted anymore drinks. Whilst we were waiting for the bill, the staff were stood talking and swearing quite loudly. I think this experience of anxiety and service has ruined the restaurant for us sadly! We were so excited to return after our first visit being top tier, but now I'm happy no not return. I didn't feel that dietary requirements may that be vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and any allergies were taken seriously by the restaurant.

Brilliant cocktails. Great staff. Nice atmosphere. Really good food and very aware of allergies. I’m gluten-free and this is one of the places in Wakefield I really trust to both taste great and be safe. They always have a great gluten-free dessert as well (not just ice cream like most places).
