erica !
The gluten free pizzas were an embarrassment to look at. There was barely any sauce on them, so little in fact that you could see the base underneath! Not to mention the cheese was cold... The place was lovely and the staff were nice but if you're going to serve God awful pizzas you're better off removing them from your menu

Decor is very nice. Restaurant is spacious and the two waiting staff working were friendly. My girlfriend ordered the charcuterie board for her starter. The hummus was visibly dried at the edges and moved as one clump. Carrot, celery and cucumber sticks were dried out. The only edible meat was the pepperoni, all others boasted either or both a questionable smell/ appearance. When alerted of this the waitstaff kindly and dutifully removed this from our bill. We both ordered pizzas for our main courses. I ordered mine gluten free, which was affirmed back to me by the waiter as they wrote it down. After my substandard honeyed pork starter, I was looking forward to actually satiating my hunger. To my dismay, the pizza I ordered did not come gluten free. I was served a ‘normal’ pizza. Luckily I’m not actually coeliac, just gluten intolerant- and at this point I was past the point of caring what I ate, so I decided not to bother anyone with this grievance, since the venue was obviously understaffed anyway. However, negligence like this cannot be accepted in the food and drink industry. Allergens and intolerances need to be taken very seriously. There is nothing more to add, really. If I had been highly allergic, I could have died. There’s no room for error when taking orders like this. It was a disappointing meal overall. However the waiter was lovely and I don’t want to name and shame them, since they were clearly doing the jobs of 3 other people who management could have done with having working that night. So thank you to them, they were very nice, and thank you for taking the charcuterie board off the bill, but the allergen ‘mistake’ with my meal can be deadly to others, so whatever went wrong there needs to be dealt with.
