Roy Southern Thai Cuisine Phinney

Roy is a new Thai place in the same spot on Phinney Ridge as another Thai place that we never visited. This weekend we decided to stop in for lunch and it was a delicious treat! We had the (gluten free) fried chicken appetizer—it had a nice crunchy skin with a hint of lemongrass. It was juicy and flavorful with a large enough portion for the two of us. We also had the chicken satay appetizer that was amazing. Lastly, we shared the pad Thai (served with tofu). Often places make this overly sweet, but not here. Similar to the appetizers, it had a balance of flavors and was truly delicious. The staff was friendly and the space is colorful and inviting. The only complaint is that the windows are tinted so it’s hard to know when it’s open (but the do have a neon sign). We suggested a sandwich board to capture folks like us walking by. It’s a great new spot and a place we will definitely go back.

Everything was amazing! So many gluten free options on the menu to choose from :) I got the fried chicken appetizer to start and lamb curry for my main. Both were delicious!! And the mango mojito was so refreshing.
